Hours & Operation
SHELC is open Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. Saturdays are by appointment only. Per MD state regulations, no child may be left in facility for more than 12 hours.
Children must be signed in and out daily.
Holiday Closures
- New Year Eve
- New Years Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Thanksgiving Eve
- Thanksgiving Day & Friday after
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas & the day after
If any of these holidays fall on a Saturday, we will observe the holiday on the Friday prior. If any of these holidays fall on a Sunday, we will observe the holiday on the Monday following.
Absences and Late Arrivals
If your child will be absent, or will be arriving later than 09:00 a.m., we ask that you call so that we can prepare for arrival.
Late Pick Up
Late pick up fees are put in place when picking up a child after your contracted time. The fee of $2.00 a min will be assessed.
Absences
Notify the Childcare as soon as possible if for any reason your child will be absent on a scheduled day of attendance. With an absence of one week (5 consecutive days) your child’s slot will not be guaranteed unless the Childcare has been notified.
